Yorkshire Terriers unbeaten start to 2018 came to an end on Thursday night, as a quality New Middleton side ran out 8-1 winners.
The opponents took the lead inside the opening minute, and in some style too, as a speculative effort from inside the centre circle broke the deadlock with just seconds on the clock.
Terriers hit back quickly though, Liam Todd playing a one-two with the departing Ashley Cleary, before finishing off into the far bottom corner.
Despite the terriers efforts, New Middleton took control from there, with a combination of well timed runs and some questionable offside decisions giving the eventual victors a 4-1 lead at the break.
Much like in the first half, New Middleton were quick out of the traps, scoring twice in quick succession, and making it 7-1 not long after that!
The side have averaged 8 goals a game so far this season, and the romp was rounded off a few minutes from time, handing the terriers a harsh defeat and their first since before Christmas.
