Terriers comeback shocks unbeaten Romans
January 14, 2018

Yorkshire Terriers handed GFSN League leaders London Romans their first defeat of the season, as they came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
Terriers dominated the opening exchanges and could have taken the lead in the first minute of the game, however it was Romans who took the lead fifteen minutes in as the ball broke for a tap in from a yard out.
And ten minutes later, the lead was doubled, as a Romans player rose highest to head home emphatically.
But terriers never lost hope, and five minutes before the break a slight stroke of luck saw a Matt Nellist corner deflect off Dan Nixon and into the net.
It was the luck that terriers deserved having played the better football in the first half, and the comeback was complete moments before the break as a Tom Carter free kick deflected off the wall and in off the post.
Buoyed by the equaliser, Terriers started the second half much the better team and soon had the lead, as a sweeping move resulted in a fine finish from Ian James-Freddie.
Romans continued to attack, in search of an equaliser, but it was Terriers who had the better of the chances, Richard Hellowell hitting the crossbar with a free kick from just inside his own half.
As the game came to a close, Romans threw everything they had forward, but were reduced to 10 men late on as terriers held on for their first league win this season.
