Poor refereeing display adds to woes for Terriers

December 22, 2017

A poor refeering display last night which left both teams feeling aggrieved saw Terriers beaten 3-0.

The game was even at half time after a string of good saves from Terriers keeper Brad Ellis including a great one on one getting down low and pushing the ball wide. Terriers best chance in the game fell to Liam Todd in the first half who smashed the ball off the crossbar from 40 yards out leaving the Woodlesford keeper stranged.

After Woodlesford went 1-0 up shortly in the second half, not long after they should have been 2-0 up but a poor reffering decision denied them it after the ball hit a object behind the goal line and bounced back out.

The second did arrive later though after another poor refereeing decision when the terriers keeper (Ellis) was pushed in the back while trying to collect the ball in the air leaving the Woodlesford player with a free header at the back post.

Woodlesford then grabbed a third to see them finally secure the win.
