LGBTQ Carers Support Group Leeds Launch

April 29, 2017

Yorkshire Terriers FC are proud to support the launch of the Carers Leeds launch LGBTQ Carers Support Group.

Alocal based charity who provides advice, information and support to unpaid carers in the Leeds area. An unpaid carer is someone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support. According to the last census there are 72,000 carers in Leeds alone and it is our aim to help as many as possible by providing assistance through our advice line, drop in centre and many support groups. I have attached a copy of our Support Group booklet for your information.

We are aware that there are many carers in Leeds who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning and from Monday 19th June 2017 between 1pm-3pm Carers Leeds will be running a group to support the LGBTQ community at our office at 6-8 The Headrow. This group will provide advice, information and support for carers in a comfortable stress free environment. If possible would your organisation be able to spread the word that this group is taking place. I have attached a pdf of the leaflet we have produced to promote this new group and I would be grateful if you could add the information to your media sites. Should you wish me to send any hardcopies to you then please email me with a name and delivery address and I will pop some in the post.

If you would like to speak to anyone regarding the above or the services Carers Leeds offer please telephone 0113 246 8338 or please email me at karen.lewis@carersleeds.org.uk. Further information on our full services are available on our website www.carersleeds.org.uk
